Early in the morning @6.30am, without the routine struggle of having to wake our daughter up, Ananya got up on her own knowing that she's going to reach Kalpakkam in 2 hours, a place where her dear brothers, Nandu and Madhav waiting to do Veshamam with her. It was very exciting to ride for the first time in a highway, very careful, as my Father-In-Law accompanied us. Filling up the required fuel, swift took off swiftly and smoothly through the glittering roads of Velachery, Thoraipakkam and OMR. Though the road was only half-filled with vehicles, it was indeed a great challenge to drive and manoeuvre through the cows guarding the OMR very sparingly. Few among the umpteen Engineering Colleges, Golf Garden and AGS Cinemas were eye-catchers. Moving through a little distance, we had virtual darshan of Kandaswamy @ Thiruporur Temple close to Chennaipattinam where my cousin bought a sweet home. Pushkarani besides the temple had water mellifluously smiling and dancing under the ever watchful eyes of Lord Murugan. Passing through the narrow highway, reached ECR through a sharp turn which was a welcome to 2 way lane after an hour's drive at the 4 way lanes of OMR. On the way, we also witnessed a huge crowd on a Walkathon to Velankanni. ECR drive had it's own challenges with every vehicle taking complete ownership of the roads with zippy and curvy cuts. For an amateur like me, it was suddenly a wakeup call which said "Keep up with the Flow". After a km drive, it was very comfortable to pass through. On taking a turn @ Kalpakkam roads, we mistakenly went straight to IGCAR (Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Reserach) entrance and had to come back to DAE Township. Passed through DAE Hospital to reach PT Hariharan (Revathi Chitappa) Home. Crispy Plain Dosa awaited us @ 8am with excellent Drum Stick Sambhar to touch base......What an aroma it had...Truly, out of the world..! After a while, we straight hit Sri Vedavalli Thayaar Sametha Venkatakrishnan Temple. Lord Garuda and Anjaneyar welcomed us @ the entrance. We had great darshan of Lord Krishna Thirumanjanam, where Turmeric, Sandal and Tender Coconut Water were the main ingredients. It was a bliss to receive LORD Krishna Prasadam after the event. Nalayira Divya Prabhandam was discoursed by a group of staunch devotees of the LORD which was followed by Theertham and Satari. Perumal was merciful enough to give HIS share to devotees where we got the opportunity to have Kadhambam and Thayir Sadham at his Sannidhi. Blessed we were to receive HIS Prasadam.
After reaching home, a sumptuous lunch awaited us: Keerai, Avarakai and Carrot mixed Poriyal, Tapioca Papad, Drum Stick Sambhar, Tomato Rasam, Paruppu Payasam and Yummy Curd. Had to remember Kumbhakarna after a heavy lunch and eyes took temporary rest for 60 minutes. Hot Filter Coffee woke us up @ 4pm from deep dreams. Way we started our return and hit the roads @ 4.30 pm again to be back @ sharp 6 to Madipakkam...! A real rejoicing, fulfilling and revitalizing day....!
Eagerly awaiting the next trip...Will it be Kanchipuram, Mahabs, Pondy, Bangalore or Trichy???...Yet to finalize...!
Signing off Smilingly......Narsi...!
